Assignment 2-1 Weekly Analysis

In recent popular culture, there has been a long awaited release for the new movie New Moon. Developed based off the book by New York Time’s best selling author, Sarah Moyer, New Moon is expected to top the charts of this season’s movie releases. New Moon is the second book in the Twilight series. The movie Twilight, which was released November of 2008, sold $3 million in its first day of DVD sales.
New Moon follows an ongoing epic story of a young girl named Bella that’s in love with her “teenage” looking vampire boyfriend Edward. Bella realizes even more so than before, that being around vampires can be dangerous for your health. Bella turns 18 and is thrown a birthday party by Edwards’s family, the Cullen’s. As Bella is opening a gift she cuts herself on the wrapping. Inflamed by the pouring blood Jasper (Edwards vampire brother) lunges at Bella. Protecting Bella, Edward dashes in front of her and saves her life. Edward realizes that love means more than one thing. It means being with the person you love no matter what, but not if being with them could kill them. He picks up his family and leaves Bella for the better of the relationship. Bella breaks down but finds friendship in her friend Jacob (a Native American werewolf). As Edward is away he is uninformed that Bella has died, and sends himself off to do the same. The rest is a battle for time.
New Moon’s release date is November 2009. Popular culture has greatly made its impact here. Trying to search New Moon and Twilight on the internet has been replaced from its scientific meaning to thousands of search pages of the Twilight saga.
